Scope: which credential this guide covers
Sales associate education and renewal differ from broker requirements. This guide covers the sales associate category. Official source ↗
Use this checklist when reviewing a real estate agent for work in Florida. It addresses the Real Estate Sales Associate License; it is not a complete inventory of every credential that a particular role or assignment may require.
Make the first-renewal cohort visible
A brokerage onboarding several new associates should maintain a distinct review list for those who have not completed postlicensing. Keep prelicense, postlicense and recurring CE documents labeled by purpose. That separation lets a manager identify the right missing item instead of seeing every education upload as interchangeable.
Review standing before returning an associate to activity
If a first-renewal task is overdue, check the DBPR record and obtain a licensing review before assuming the associate can continue. Retain the review outcome with the employee record. For established associates, use the recurring subject checklist and the actual board expiration rather than the employee’s anniversary date.
Evidence to retain for the reviewer
- The exact credential category, jurisdiction and authority record checked.
- Current status and the expiration or registration period shown by the authority.
- The supporting document, verification date and accountable review owner.
- Any unresolved scope or assignment question, with a follow-up date.
These are recommended employer records, not a claim that the authority mandates this particular software or checklist.
Renewal context for the staffing calendar
The first renewal falls in an 18–24 month period; subsequent cycles are 24 months. Official source ↗
