What this checker actually does
It reads the header row and the mapped columns of one worksheet, normalizes the expiration values it can interpret, and compares them against a date you choose. Each row is then placed in one of five groups: expired, due within 30 days, a later date, unclear, or explicitly non-expiring. Nothing else about the row is interpreted.
- CSV and .xlsx files up to 2 MB, up to 300 rows per sheet.
- YYYY-MM-DD values and Excel date cells are read automatically.
- Ambiguous values such as 03/04/2027 need a date order you select.
- Only an explicit “non-expiring”, “does not expire” or “lifetime” label marks a row as non-expiring.
Why the file never leaves this page
The spreadsheet is parsed by a web worker running in your browser tab. There is no upload endpoint for the file, no server-side copy, and no third-party tag manager or session replay loaded on this URL. Clearing the table removes the parsed data from the tool, and closing the tab discards it.
If you prefer, replace employee names with internal references and delete any column the check does not need before you load the file. The checker only uses the columns you map.
What a date check cannot tell you
This tool checks what is written in your table. It does not contact an issuing authority, confirm that a license is in good standing, verify a person’s right to work, or determine regulatory compliance. A future date in a spreadsheet is a record of a date, not evidence that a credential is currently valid.
Treat the result as a triage list. Rows marked unclear usually mean a missing, free-text or ambiguous date, which is the most common reason a renewal is missed.
When a snapshot is not enough, see how employee credential records, evidence and follow-up stay connected to the worker instead of a row.
Keep the spreadsheet, or start from ours
You do not need to change formats to use this checker; it maps whatever headings your table already uses. If you would rather start from a clean layout, the free template uses the same columns the check expects and is available as Excel and CSV downloads.
Download the free employee credential tracking spreadsheet — the same checker is embedded on that page too.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to give an email address to see my results?
No. Results and the cleaned CSV download appear without an email address or an account. After a check you can optionally leave an address; the only things sent are that address, the four summary counts and your product-updates choice — never rows, names, credential numbers or the file itself. The address is stored, not mailed: no message is sent from this page, so keep the CSV as your copy.
Is my spreadsheet uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is parsed by a web worker inside your browser tab. There is no endpoint that accepts the file, and the optional email form rejects any payload that carries row data.
Does this verify licenses with the issuing authority?
No. It only reads the dates and labels written in your own table. Confirm standing with the issuing board and keep that confirmation with your review evidence.
