Requirements
The standard path requires eligible apprentice or tradesman status, 8,000 plumbing experience hours and approved 48-hour training; the board lists apprenticeship and out-of-state exceptions. Official source ↗

Build the experience file before the examination request
Ask each supervising employer to certify the relevant work rather than trying to reconstruct every hour at the end. Store training completion separately from experience and fingerprints. If an applicant relies on an apprenticeship or another state’s license, identify that route explicitly and check its exception with the board before using the standard training checklist.
